Rocking Horse Acres Selling Practices:

1.

You will be provided with honest answers to any questions you have about my horses.

 
2. 

You will be informed if the horse you have inquired about has any significant medical, breeding, foaling or behavior issues, whether you think to ask me or not...particularly important to new horse owners that may not know all the questions to ask!

 
3.

You will never be able to purchase a barren mare or a breeding stallion that is not descended from my farm without full knowledge of these issues.

 
4.

Horses with issues will be sold honestly and be priced accordingly.

 
5.

Some pricing on the horses is non-negotiable, others have room for offers or discounts for a variety of reasons, such as multiple purchases or immediate payment in full purchases.  Some horses have been drastically discounted and are only available at their current pricing on a "payment in full" basis, but zero interest payment plans are typically available on most horses and we do our best to work with potential buyers to allow them to purchase the horse.

 
6.

All applicable papers are guaranteed on my horses.  Papers are guaranteed on any foals resulting from mares that are sold in foal to one of my stallions.

 
7.

I am happy to provide a Sales Contract to Legitimate Buyers that will include any agreed upon guarantees and payment dates if payment is not made in full at the signing of the contract.  Contracts are not binding unless reviewed by both the Seller and Buyer and accepted in writing.  When I write a Sales Contract, it will be forwarded to you, as Buyer, for your review.  This is your opportunity to notify me if I have forgotten any guarantees that you expected to be included.  This is also your opportunity to correct me if I have any expected payment or shipping dates incorrect.  Many misunderstandings can be avoided with a complete review of the written contract so please take this review seriously.

 

8.

Specific payment dates are required for my contracts.  These dates should be dates that the Buyer is confident they can comply with.  Please do not commit to payment dates that you know you will not meet or you may be terribly disappointed if you miss out on the opportunity to purchase the horse due to your own inability to meet your commitments.  It is not beneficial to the Seller or Buyer to have commitment dates that you know up front will never be within your ability to fulfill.

 
9. If any deposits are made, they are non-refundable, which is the typical situation as the purpose of the deposit is to protect the Seller from people who do not follow through with the terms of the agreement. This deposit is the Seller's guarantee from the Buyer that the horse is, in fact, sold and the remaining funds due will be paid by the date that has been discussed and accepted by both the Seller and the Buyer.  Any variance in the timing of payment or other adjustments to the agreement must be accepted in writing by both the Buyer and Seller to be considered valid.

 
10. I will allow and I encourage farm visits and pre-purchase veterinary examinations at the cost of the buyer.  I want any potential buyers to do whatever is necessary to feel comfortable with their purchase.  No seller wants unhappy buyers and I do my best to familiarize you with your new horse to ensure that it is the right horse for you and that it is the horse you expected it to be!

 
11.

I am happy to cover the cost of a negative coggins test and US health certificate on all horses priced at $1,000 or more.

 
12.

We reserve the right to refuse the sale of any of our horses.

 
13.

Pricing is subject to change without notice, and does so frequently.

 
14.

Please note that any pricing we quote is for a limited time so if you are interested in one of our horses but not ready to purchase for some length of time, you should inquire how long I am willing to guarantee a price.

 
15.

If I provide a written price guarantee for a certain period of time, I will always honor that guarantee, even if there is a significant reason for the horse's value to increase...a written guarantee on pricing through a certain date will always override a planned increase in pricing!

 
16.

Transportation of the horse is the Buyer's responsibility unless another arrangement has been agreed to in writing by both the Seller and Buyer.

 
17.

Generally, I offer 30 days free board after the purchase date for you to arrange transportation, but exact timing is flexible.  If you need more than 30 days, please discuss this prior to finalizing your purchase and I am confident we can accommodate your timing needs in a way that is acceptable to both parties.

 
18.

I am able to accept payments through PayPal, including credit card payments.  If you choose to send payment through PayPal, please add 3.5% to cover fees.
