Cross Country Private Terms

Private was a wonderful stallion that we had admired for quite some time before we finally had the opportunity to purchase him. We had spent years collecting a wonderful group of his daughters for our breeding program since Private was not for sale.

It was no surprise when Private became available that we just couldn't get him home to Rocking Horse Acres fast enough!

After acquiring Private, we began offering some of our prized Private daughters since we now had Private himself in our breeding program. As time went on, we were able to retain outstanding sons and grandsons as future herd sires to maintain the quality and look that Private has brought to our program.

Although we no longer have Private, his influence in our AMHA breeding program is most significant and cherished and will continue at Rocking Horse Acres.

FRH JCs Captivation

Captivation is another of those coveted stallions...like Private, owned by good friends that just weren't ready to part with him. We never expected to have the opportunity to purchase this outstanding AMHR/ASPC stallion, but again, he became available and we were picking him up to bring him home to Rocking Horse Acres within hours! Captivation is a strong influence in our Shetland program as well as our Miniature program. He has sired a number of under 34" horses and we are thrilled with our crosses of the Private line with Captivation. We love our Miniatures of all sizes, but there is something about that extreme Shetland look in a 31" mature horse that just takes my breath away!

Lee Land Unique Nique is a young stallion that is just incredible beyond words! We are thrilled to have so many of his get in our AMHR/ASPC program. He is proudly owned and loved by our dear friends, Paul & Chris Wait of Wa-Full Farm. We are honored to have had the opportunity to become friends with such a wonderful, welcoming family. James Walsh of RHA Training Stables had the pleasure of representing Nique in the Get of Sire Class at the 2011 AMHR Nationals. A Huge Thanks to Josh Tibbs & Emily Conder for assisting in the expert handling of these horses! As evidenced by the horses shown below, I am once again repeating my collecting behavior of this bloodline as I just can't seem to convince Paul that Nique really needs to come live at Rocking Horse Acres. Most of these Nique get have been offered for sale at one time, although often for a very limited time. We do have a few available now and more to come for sure! Rocking Horse Acres and Wa-Full Farm will continue to work closely to bring many more Nique get & grand-get to the show ring and beyond!

SMHC Freedoms Nicodemus

My boy, Nico.... In 2006 we made our first visit to SMHC. The sight was breathtaking with Shetlands and Gypsy Vanners running across the fields and over the hills. Nico was so upright and showy. We chose him as our top pick out of all the foals that year. He was shown on a limited basis and took Grand Championships. He did fantastic at AMHR Nationals. As a three year old he measured just 34.25" at the show. Such a remarkable, extreme Shetland in such a small package! Nico has given us an outstanding group of fillies and I can only hope that 2012 will bring me a top show colt sired by Nico. We did part with one Nico daughter at the AMHR Nationals, where she placed extremely well. We have retained his remaining daughters for our program. As you can see from their pasture pics, we have not been anxious to constantly get updated, clipped, "wow" pics as these girls are not being offered for sale. Believe it or not, even his fuzzy filly, Rosetta, is a stunner for sure! These girls all have Nico's look and will be a prized addition to our program.
